Danbert Nobacon

Slightly after Chimp Eats Banana, Dan began working on his acoustic solo career. He was a dangerously bold and knowledgeable individual who has become very notorious over the past years from committing atrocities which he has committed on and off stage. Born as Nigel Hunter in England on January 16th, 1962, but known to all by his nickname Danbert Nobacon, he grew up with his mom, dad and two brothers until he left home sometime during his early twenties. During his early life, Danbert went to all-boy schools, so he ended up not really 'knowing' too much about women until he reached his twenties, but he eventually lost his virginity at the age of twenty three. He was considered for having one of the most important political minds of the eighties and proved time and time again by uncovering the truth behind our leaders that he actually had something to say.

During February of 1985, Danbert recorded his 'The Unfairy Tale' record and released it on the Sky and Trees label. During his early gigs, he was known for exposing himself to his audiences, and he would often describe himself as a transvestite. During several gigs, he would often be seen wearing a nun's habit.

Not too long ago during the 1998 BRIT awards, he gained notoriety for dumping ice water on U.K. deputy prime minister John Prescott while shouting 'This is for the Liverpool Dockers!' while at the same time, his band that was playing on stage shouted out 'New labor sold out the dockers, just like they'll sell out the rest of us!'(they changed one line in the song they were playing to say that instead).

In 1987, Danbert released 'Bigger than Jesus' on Mind Matter Records, followed by 'Why are we still in Ireland' in 1989 on Rugger Bugger Discs. 'Bigger than Jesus' was sold inside brown bags in stores because he decided to use a photograph of his penis for the cover. Next, a notable gig was played in Scunthrope during 1989 which features a personal song called 'A Sort of Love Song' and an amazing version of 'A Million Wat Tylers'. Danbert eventually became the comedian 'Frank Nobacon' for a short while, and currently still continues to release music such as 'The Library Book of the World' on Bloodshot Records in 2007, and 'Woebegone' on Verbal Burlesque in 2010. Nobacon has been referred to as 'the punk rock king' in fanzines, and will best be remembered for being the lead vocalist of Chumbawamba.

"Why are we Still in Ireland?

Our settlers calling
our kingdom great.
Our banners raised on high.
Baptized with the tide of history
that won’t lie down and die.
Words from our own good book
to help us get by.

The sacrifice of our daily bread
The hallowed be our domain.
For ever and ever
the powers use their glory
to chain our minds again.
Our lads growing into
our men.

The unicorn stands triumphant
But if we look a little closer
it’s chained like a slave.
The lion
was crowned king of this land that
it’s only ever seen from behind
bars in a cage.
This history of the winning side
written on every page.

It’s not as simple as being mislead,
as us not wanting to see,
that most of us are born losers
in the great society.
Fed on a diet
of how grand things used to be.

An empire,
two world wars,
and Wimbly ’66.
But a Gordon Banks save
couldn’t save our ship
We were sinking like a brick
till we were washed ashore in the South Atlantic.

The unicorn stands triumphant
But if we look a little closer
it’s chained like a slave.
The lion
was crowned king of this land that
it’s only ever seen from behind
bars in a cage.
This history of the winning side
written on every page.

And how can we as a people
be so blind
to taking so much
but to close our minds.
To be so afraid of stepping over the line.
To bury our heads in
the sands of time.
To champion those
who take our everything,
and pretend
that none of this is happening.
To turn away and stop wondering
how things could be any different.

Living in the hope
of a promise of a land
fit for heroes’ needs.
With the reason that if
we got sod all
then at least we’re white
and free.
Hiding behind
hand-me-down bigotry.
A nation of jurors
judging others
by the color of a book.
That was written for us
on our behalf.
‘Cause we can’t be bothered to look
beyond the headlines written
verbatim by government crooks.

And tell me when is a lie not a lie?
When it’s told by someone
who owns the truth.
And when is a joke
not a joke?
When the punchline is
the Union Jackboot.
When is a war
not a war?
When those who started it
know it can’t be won,
and when is a country
not a country?
When it’s partitioned
and ruled by British guns.

England,
oh England,
I’ll never sing your praise
For all the blood you shed
in long-gone days.
You still can’t put your mind
to changing your ways.

And while Britain’s first
and virtually its last
remaining colony
is fighting
with its very life
to bring this monster
to its knees.
We can’t see the wood
through the trees
who the monster is.

And how can we as a people
be so blind
to taking so much
but to close our minds.
To be so afraid of stepping over the line.
To bury our heads in
the sands of time.
To champion those
who take our everything,
and pretend
that none of this is happening.
To turn away and stop wondering
how things could be any different.

The unicorn stands triumphant
But if we look a little closer
it’s chained like a slave.
The lion
was crowned king of this land that
it’s only ever seen from behind
bars in a cage.
This history of the winning side
written on every page.

Do we stand against the tide
or still pretend we’re the master race?
Do we stand against the tide
or still pretend we’re the master race?

"The Birningham Six"

Birmingham,
1974,
there occurred a
bloody murder.
Twenty-one people killed by bombs,
Britain reeled in horror.
Within three hours
the British State
found the first available scapegoats–
Five Irish men
bound for Belfast,
about to board the boat.

And this is their story,
very sad, but true.
Of how six men were falsely imprisoned
for something they didn’t do.
And if any should say, “British justice
is the very best in the world”
tell them,
“Well of course it is,
for the vested interests it serves”

The men were taken to Morkham
to be tested for explosives.
Tests which have since proved ambiguous
but were at the time held as conclusive.
One scientists’ word was sufficient
to condemn the Irish men.
Like vultures
the police moved in
to begin interrogations.

In the circumstances
how well do you think the men’s rights
were observed?
The cops thought they had the bombers;
do you think they kept
their judgement reserved?
Does ‘innocent till proven guilty’
have any meaning at all?
When you’re alone in a police house surrounded by cops
being kicked around like a ball.

In a dark windowless room
half a dozen detectives were waiting.
Billy Power was thrown in,
the serious questions about to begin.
He was kicked
and hit
and punched from all sides,
spread-eagled against the wall.
They kicked him
and hit him again,
a voice from the dark said,
“Stretch his balls”.

Soon after, poor Billy surrendered,
screamed,
“I’ll tell you anything you want me to say”
Sat in his own excretia,
he could hardly speak he remained in a daze,
whilst cops compiled his statement
of how he planted the bombs.
They threatened him
with the treatment again
so Billy signed a confession.

Thursday night
became Friday night,
the five men were took back to Birmingham.
The threats and the violence continued–
a taste of what was to come.
Deprived of food and sleep,
all part of procedure to break the men.
Johnny Walker
blacked out twice;
they untied his hands while he signed his confession.

And Richard McIlkenny
was threatened
with a gun
The cop said it was OK to shoot him,
that the home officer’d given permission
The cop asked him
if he was going to sign,
put the gun against his head.
Playing Russian roulette with a blank;
when he banged
McIlkenny thought he was dead.
Hugh Callaghan,
a sixth man,
was picked up in Berm and tortured
He, too, hadn’t done it
but they made him sign a confession
to mass murder.
Six men kept in isolation
no contact with each other
And it weren’t until
Monday morning
that they each got a duty solicitor
Still separate each unbuttoned his shirt to show how he’d been beaten up
The solicitors,
filling in legal aid forms,
said there wasn’t time
and refused to look
The only obvious injury,
Johnny Walker’s black eye in court that day
When he tried to unbotton his shirt
all the majistrates said,
“Let’s take him away”

Leland workers staged a walkout,
their banners read
“Hang the IRA”
The labor government
empowered at the time
rushed through the PTA
In their war on the Irish people
the British wanted vengeance.
Despite glaring omissions in the so-called confessions
the six men hadn’t a chance.

The judge dismissed their claims,
said it would’ve meant there’d been a conspiracy.
Between fifteen officers from two different forces,
as if it was an impossibility.
The police in fact became heroes,
got their promotion and victory medals.
The six men got life imprisonment
and fifteen years on they’re still in jail.

The men protested their innocence
but it fell mainly on deaf ears.
They wanted to bring
the policemen to trial,
the appeal took
seven years.
Lord Denning dismissed their case out of hand, saying “These actions cannot go on”
What he really meant
was the State machine
could never admit it’s done wrong.

Another six years,
another appeal,
another set of judiciary.
To uphold the original convictions
as safe and satisfactory.
For if it ever gets out that the State judges wrong,
well
what would people say?
We’d say,
“We know who are real enemies are now”,
and we’d form our own IRA

Oh, let me tell a story,
very sad, but true
of how six men were falsely imprisoned
for something they didn’t do.
And if any should say, “British justice
is the very best in the world”.
Tell them,
“Well of course it is,
for the vested interests it serves”.

For as long as we remain ignorant
they’ll fight their war against Ireland.
For as long as we remain silent
they’ll imprison any they want.
For as long as we keep our eyes shut
they’ll continue
to contain us.
For as long as we remain passive
they’ll trample us into the dust.

Hugh Callaghan,

Patrick Hill,

Richard McIlkenny,

Johnny Walker,

Gerry Hunter,

and Billy Power

Still fighting
for their freedom
fifteen long years on.
Their spirits
shall remain
when our State is dead.
When our State is dead.
When our State is dead
and gone.

Chimp Eats Banana

The bizarre Chimp Eats Banana from Burnley started sometime around the late seventies by accident. The band's name was actually used as a joke that they wrote down on a list for bands at a musicians collective, but when they called them back for a gig, they got surprised and decided to actually start the band. the name came from Midge's hair, which looked like a bunch of bananas. Overtime, the band went through several members such as Midge, Dan, Khany, Pete, Tomi, Gilly and Allan Whalley. The main members of the band became Dan, Allan and Midge and they played nothing but local gigs compromising of comedic, folkish punk tunes.

In 1980, the band went into a studio to record their one and only demo. Several other much more personal tapes were recorded, but never released. Soon after, the band dissolved sometime around 1981. Next, Dan, Allan, and Midge joined with several other bands including the Passion Killers to form Chumbawamba.

It would be kind of childish to put down their lyrics. However, if I knew them I still would. The only song that actually seems to talk about something important is the one about the gunpowder plot.

Passion Killers

Passion Killers formed sometime during 1978 while they were all around the age of eleven, as a response to the exploding punk scene from the first wave of bands. The line-up isn't clearly explained anywhere, but leads to Allan Whalley on bass, Daz(Harry Hamer) on drums and vocals and Dave(Mavis Dillan) on guitar and vocals. They squatted in an old Victorian house, and lived with six other people. Drugs were not accepted by them, and thought of as a way for the weak who cannot face their problems to escape into a dream world. In 1982, the band was featured in Crass's 'Bullshit Detector 2' album with the track 'Start Again'.

On September 20th, 1983, they released their "Be Happy Despite it All" split demo tape, which was recorded at the Lion Studios in Leeds, and released on the Sky and Trees label. It went on to become their most popular release. All the tracks were recorded on Jimmy Echo's mixer during 5/5/83 in Daz's dad's house, except for 'Why' which was recorded by Daz and Dave in 1982. After their appearance on the Crass album, they responded to a letter sent from a band of like-minded individuals which led to a combination of bands that ultimately formed Chumbawamba. However, the Passion Killers did return briefly in 1991 to release the 'Whoopee !! We're all going to Die' 7" on Rugger Bugger Discs, which was a response to the first Gulf War.

"Stand Together as One"

What we must now do is all stand together as one
to show that we're strong.
We must now realize that what they are doing is wrong,
it is all wrong
and still goes on,
on and on.

Governments, Governments, what have the governments done?
What have they done?
Systems society, built on anxiety strong,
it is all wrong,
still it goes on,
on and on.

What we must now do is all stand together as one
to show that we're strong.
We must now realize that what they are doing is wrong,
it is all wrong
and still goes on,
on and on.

Governments, Governments, what have the governments done?
What have they done?
Systems society, built on anxiety strong,
it is all wrong,
still it goes on,
on and on.

"The Fighting Carries On"

Another child is born
can he hold a gun?
Will he watch T.V.?
Grow up to love his country?

Another child is born.
Just another pawn.
Will he live for greed?
Live for their needs?

Will he want to fight?
Will he think it's right?
It's just been on T.V.
How it's happening in the street.

Will he be so scared
to see violence everywhere?
Just go up to bed
as the fighting carries on.

Will he question why
or will he just pass by?
Just go up to bed
as the fighting carries on?

Will he question why?
Or will he just pass by?
Will he want to know
or will he want to go?
Experience of hate
now he just can't wait.
Another war is won
another war is born.

Will he question why
or will he just pass by?
Just go up to bed
as the fighting carries on?

"What's inside?"

Inside every mind there's always something.
Something trying to get out.
Something trying to get out.
And inside every person there's always something
different from yours,
different from mine,
different all the time.

But it's stuck there,
bondaged
tied without escape,
but it's fulling,
to break free,
hot it wants to break,
how it wants to break.

Inside every mind there's thoughts of freedom.
Wanting what is right.
Wanting what is right.
And Inside every mind There's dreams of freedom
different from yours
different from mine.

But it's stuck there,
bondaged
tied without escape,
but it's fulling,
to break free,
hot it wants to break,
how it wants to break.

Inside every mind there's always
something trying to get out.
Something trying to get out.
Inside every mind there's always something.
Something trying to get out.
something trying to get out.
Something trying to get out.

"I Wont Fight your Wars"

Just because I'm on the dole
doesn't mean I have to fight.
Just because I've got no job
doesn't mean that it's alright,
oh no.

Doesn't mean that it's alright,
oh no.

Just because you make your mouth
and get your country in a war
doesn't mean I have to pay
by ending up dead on the floor.
I wont fight you wars for you.
That's just something I wont do.
I won't fight your wars for you.
I wont fight your wars for you.
Not you.

If you try to make me kill,
how about you being let down.
I will look you in the face
and smash your gun onto the ground.

I won't fight your wars for you.
that's just something I wont do.
I wont fight your wars for you.
I wont fight those wars for you,
Not you.

I'm not going to die for you.
I don't want to end that way,
getting shot and getting killed,
never to see another day.

I won't fight your wars for you.
that's just something I wont do.
I wont fight your wars for you.
Not you.

"Why?"

There's a pain in my eyes
from the flame in the skies,
and the trees are charred are bare.
I lay on the ground,
ashes all around.
Does anyone out there care
why?
Why?
Why?
Why?

The button was pressed
and I should have guessed
that we didn't have long to go.
The end was near.
People ran in fear.
Why does this have to be so?

Did it have to end like this?
Did man have to take this path?
You say you had to go give it a kiss.
We've to survive this aftermath.

Why?
Why?
Why?
Why?

Thousands are dead.
The screams sound in my head.
I'm so lucky I'll alive,
but it''s not as I said,
all the lucky are dead.
I look round and ask myself why?

Did it have to end like this?
Did man have to take this course?
You say you had to go give it a kiss.
You did it just to show your force.

Why?
Why?
Why?
Why?

I lay in the ash
thinking of the fact
of how things could have been.
I began to cry
knowing soon I would die.
If only they could have seen.

Did it have to end like this?
Did man have to take this course?
You say you had to go give it a kiss.
You did it just to show your force.

We've to survive this aftermath.

Did it have to end like this?
Did man have to take this course?
You say you had to go give it a kiss.
You did it just to show your force.

Who's life is it Anyway?

Born into the system
that holds us back with chains.
But you won't stop to realize
and change your evil ways.
You will fill us up with crap.
The T.V.'s on again.
Brainwash all the people.
Driving them insane.
You call this a free country,
but free to what extent.
Free some more than others
is what it really meant.
The rich get even richer.
Take advantage of the poor.
We'll have to get together.
It's the only cure we want a better life.

A better life for us.
Free from government policies
and all that capitalist stuff.
So Thatcher just you listen,
and you just listen clear.
It's our life and we'll live it
and that is why we are here.

Whose life is it anyways?
If tomorrow is mine I'll take today.
Mess it up but you couldn't care
because come tomorrow,
and you'll still be there.
Whose life is it anyways?

"Start Again"

Nuclear forces out of control
let's start again, let's start again.
All buried down an A-bomb hole.
Let's start again, let's start again.

Let's start,
let's start,
let's start all over again.
Let's start,
 let's start,
let's start again.

Radiation,
deadly ray,
let's start again,
let's start again.
Stay in your homes out of the way,
let's start again,
let's start again.

Let's start,
let's start,
let's start all over again.
Let's start,
 let's start,
let's start again.

Nuclear forces out of control,
let's start again,
let's start again.
Nothing left not a single soul,
let's start again,
let's start again.

Let's start,
let's start,
let's start all over again.
Let's start,
 let's start,
let's start again.

"Judging by the Headlines"

The war becomes glorious
when the papers move in.
Judging by the headlines
there's no doubt who will win.
It's good luck to out lads
we have faith in them.
May god be with you
and let the enemy be condemned.

The minds of the people
of proper-gander and lies
as they wait for the bulletin
cannot hear the soldier's cries.
The pain so far away
it is easily ignored.
To see the death in color
they wish they could afford.

It's just blind acceptance.
They didn't think.
they didn't look
and see the link.
Did you stop?
Did you think?
Did you look and see the link?
Did you look
and see the link?

A human life
becomes just another figure.
Just to show how many
are quick on the trigger.
They thrive on the deaths.
Fifteen dead reads the headline,
while eighteen million starving
is accepted as fine.

It's just blind acceptance.
They didn't think.
they didn't look
and see the link.
Did you stop?
Did you think?
Did you look and see the link?
Did you look
and see the link?

The government that deals in
lies and corruption
spend millions
trying to perfect destruction,
and we just accept
and push to the side
the thought of a thousand people that died.

It's just blind acceptance.
They didn't think.
they didn't look
and see the link.
Did you stop?
Did you think?
Did you look and see the link?
Did you look
and see the link?

It's just blind acceptance.
They didn't think.
they didn't look
and see the link.
Did you stop?
Did you think?
Did you look and see the link?
Did you look
and see the link?

Thatcher on Acid

Thatcher on Acid was born in Somerset sometime during 1983, and sounded similar to The Mob, Omega Tribe, Blyth Power and Chumbawamba. For the most part, the band formed so they could see what kind of reaction they could get from their band name, and to ruin gigs by playing as long as they could before getting kicked off stage. The first line-up for Thatcher On Acid was Ben Corrigan on guitar and vocals and Martin Hosken on drums, and they were later joined by Simon 'Spike' Hughes on bass to play a show at Wincanton racecourse. Spike left right after and was replaced by Matt Cornish. Their early influences included lots of '76/'79 punk, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Gong, The Mob and Zounds(not to mention their L.S.D. consumption which influenced their early lyrics). They played their first official gig in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, during September of 1983.

During April of 1984, they recorded their first demo, and followed by recording another batch of songs at Brixton's Cold Storage studio that were held in hopes of being released on record. They managed to get a hold of Rob Challice from Faction who at the time had had All the Madmen passed down to him, and he agreed to release it without a contract or anything which made it easy for the band. The result was 'The Moondance' E.P. which was released in 1986. The band enjoyed the cover, but sort of disliked the music for being too flat.

In 1987, Thatcher on Acid returned to the same studio to which had been upgraded to a 24-track by then to record their debut album titled 'Curdled' that same year, once again on All the Madmen. However, their drummer Martin left soon after and was replaced by Andi Tuck. Fortunately, the band managed to open the 'Gathering of the 5000' show at Brixton Academy with Conflict before it got released, which greatly boosted their profile. The band managed to get the big through Rob Challice who had connections with Colin Jerwood from Conflict.

In 1988, Thatcher on Acid released their live 'Garlic' album on Rugger Bugger. The band then packed up and played several European tours to promote it. It is noted that the band was a big fan of football, and played several games with many other anarchist punk bands. If you read their booklets, you'll notice their end game scores where they managed to beat other bands such as Political Asylum and Chumbawamba.

Their next album is called 'The Illusion of Being Together' and was released in 1990 on Ian Armstrong's Meantime Records. By that time, their bassist Matt was briefly replaced by their old drummer Martin. It was recorded at the Yeovil Icehouse, and questioned the hypocrites that were ruining their current punk scene. The album was actually one long song that was cut into three parts. Most of the music was even improvised on the spot.

In 1991, Matt decided to rejoin the band, and connections with Chumbawamba led to the release of their next album titled 'Frank'. It was appeared in 1991, and was released on Chumbawamba's own Agit Prop label. The band wasn't fully satisfied with the album, but continued by touring internationally, including in the U.S.A. The band never really sold that many of their records, but they weren't interested in becoming popular popstars.

In 1992, Thatcher on Acid released their 'Squib' album which was a split between them and another band named Wat Tyler, and released it on John Yate's Allied Recordings. A little known fact about it is that it featured Steve Ignorant from Crass on lead vocals in the song 'Our Gods are Falling Down'(featured in the Overground compilations). Unfortunately, their bassist Matt had to leave the band to become a full-time doctor, and was replaced by Bob Butler from Yeovil. They decided to finish the bands course by playing their last tour from Scandinavia to Germany in September of that same year.

The band split afterwards to form Schwartzeneggar in 1993 with Steve Ignorant from Crass on vocals until they stopped in 1995. Since then, Thatcher on Acid has only reunited once, but only to play two reunion gigs in 1998 to help raise money for the Mclibel campaign. Guitarist/vocalist Ben now plays in a band called Hard Skin and also works as a tour manager for several bands such as The Kills, Black Keys, and 5678s. Bassist Matt still works as a doctor in Somerset, drummer Andi now works as an electrician and original drummer Martin teaches ceramics at Brixton College.

"Sitting"

T.V. or not T.V.
Narrow strip of gray
fixed forward
on the landscape.
No picture there.
Thinking is diminished.
We don't need this.
Lack of eye movement.
What is growing here?
Wheels not feet.
No definition.
Overall body inertness.
Idle, we don't need this.
It's a stranger's daydream.
Sleep teaching.
Are they happening now?
Seeing is believing.
Alpha, beta cathode fix.
Pull the plug, cold turkey.
We don't need this.
Where do you sit?

"Put it in"

It's so great for lying and telling the truth.
The telephones here for all kinds of abuse.
You can dial up the love line for your satisfaction.
Release all your tensions with direct
action.
You can dial up the love line til your groin is content.
Help a single parent to pay up her rent.
You can ring up the love line for 38p,
and speak to a dolly who's actually 63.

Put it in.
Put it in.
Put it in.
Put it in.
Put it in.

Put your finger on the button,
your digit in the hole.
Put it in.

We look for excitement to get through the day.
There's 24 hours to escape or to play.
You can use up your tissues or confront all your masters
who put you in this situation
in the first place.

Put it in.
Put it in.
Put it in.

"Clock Watching"

Start the day, What's the time?
Can't wait for it to end.
I'll grab some lunch, six hours to go.
I want to get home, I'll check my watch.
Watch the second hand move slowly round.
Repeat myself, repeat yourself, repeat ourselves.
We're whiling our time away 6 o'clock relax at home.
"Now let them feel your fist. They themselves ask for this."

"Demand Fed"

Consumer species.
They train us.
"And I regard these people almost with worship as a captive may
regard those that promise him freedom."

"Token Green Song(!...)

It's sunny this morning,
I stretch out my arms
and I watch the white clouds
floating by.
And the grass is so green
and the air is so clear,
I feel like I never will die.
But, there's dumps in the sea
and they make my eyes sore.
Dead fish in the river float by.
And the sky in this town
is so hazy and gray
that I'm starting to see that this is why
the earth is dying.

"Our Gods are Falling Down"

Parliament's a brothel,
the heart of the sweaty city
pumping all that clotted blood through those hopeless limbs.
People frantic and love struck guardedly sleaze the open corridors littered with cast-off contraception.
For a moment,
just a moment their sticky impotence finding comfort in a homely lonely cinema
half full of the smoke of a death wish culture.
Death hovers over all and the buildings crumble. Slowly crippled broken windows, falling spikes.
Our Gods are falling down.
Look at my works ye mighty and despair.
The greatest happiness for the greatest wallet.
Encouraging growth of the greatest girth.
Grass dies, time flies and we 'progress'.
Desert the old,
they cannot please,
they have no use.
Nora had a family, then she had a stroke.
Now she's very lucky if she recognizes folk.
We laugh, we lock them up.
We laugh we knock-them down
like the freak at the zoo.
He screams and rolls his eyes, we throw him nuts.
Who's crazy now?
We expect to gain perspective by looking through kaleidoscopes colorful but, fake.
staking all on others and waiting for the change.
There are many ways of living
and some have lived in vain.
Cars and trains slither down the ice.
Down the tube to the empty platform
seeing all the town and none of it.
Blindly we watch the people dreams as the whore bravely models her scars on T.V. transfixed to the screen.
We the clientele slouch at home
gloating over favorites.
Paying for the privilege,
this is the scene,
this is the market.
Where is the pimp that started it all?

Icon A.D.

Around 1977/1978, Dave Ryan started the band Abrasive Wheels, and this inspired his neighbor Craig to dive into the early punk scene. Craig began listening to bands such as The Clash, Sex Pistols, Adverts, The Damned, Saints, Vibrators, Richard Hell and the Voidoids, and soon bought a Avon Les Paul copy guitar in hopes of starting a band with the same rebellious 'against the norm' attitude. Soon enough, the band Icon was born as four school mates featuring Craig Sharp-Weir on guitar, Mark Holmes on drums, Phil Smith on bass and Dicky Walton on vocals, all aged between 16 and 18 years of age formed the band in Leeds. Their first name was The Jackets, then Terminal Boredom, followed by Icon(ironically they chose the name because they did not want to be icons) which was taken from a Siouxsie and the banshees' track(the Join Hands album). Their early gigs were played at youth clubs, schools and talent shows, and they would often upset the people they played to with their lyrical content.

However, the band faced a couple of problems in the beginning, since regular places to have gigs in wouldn't allow punk bands to play at first. Their drummer Mark was the politically aware member in the band who eventually sent a rehearsal tape to Crass which let to the track 'Cancer' appearing in Bullshit Detector 1. However, the band split during 1980/1981 due to too many problems regarding unemployment, dropping out out of school, and their vocalist Dicky's lost interest in the band.

A year later, guitarist Craig decided to pay for a recording session and convinced Mark to drum again while he recorded the guitar and bass parts, and he also recruited Mark's wife Caroline and her sister on vocals. The band sent the recordings to an independent label in Norwich without even being serious about it, and it ended up getting released as the 'Don't Feed us Shit' E.P. on The Disrupter's Radical Change label on September 4th, 1982, which sold well, but Caroline left soon afterwards.

The band was shocked at the sudden success and decided to reunite the old Icons band, but their original bassist and vocalist couldn't be found, so they kept the two women and recruited Roger Turnbull on bass from another band named F3, and changed their name to Icon A.D. which stands for 'Armistice Day' or even 'After Death'. Thanks to the support from Crass, the success of the first E.P. led to the recording of another single on Radical Change Records, a John Peel session, several tours and other gigs. Radical Change released 'Let the Vultures Fly' on June 26th, 1983. Unfortunately, the band split soon after for unknown reasons(it may have had something to do with family business), but right before they split they recorded their third and best single but it was held back and never released because Backs Records figured out that one of the songs was directed towards them on how they had screwed over Icon A.D. with their previous two releases. The band thought it would had been funny if they had released it, and since they didn't want to be icons, they refused to sign to any big labels for the third E.P. and simply decided to go their separate ways.

Toxic Shock

After leaving Sanction, Heff moved and joined her friend Al to start a much more personal anarcho-feminist band called Toxic Shock. The duo were Heather 'Heff' Joyce on saxophone and vocals, and Alice 'Al' Marsh on bass and vocals. That was the only line-up and it managed to create a really unique and original sound. However, they claim that before the band got serious they started out as a joke to play songs at a disco, and that the name had no real meaning behind it, until they decided to use it to describe the effect their performances had on the audience. Both women were vegans, Heff helped out with the Catalyst zine and their ideas were a much more extreme version of what Bikini Kill and the Riot Grrrl movement were about.

They were based in Greenham Common and were heavily influenced by Poison Girls, which ultimately led to the two bands playing several gigs together. Toxic Shock helped to talk sense and expose the truth in regards to women's rights and equality with men. The band even had all girl audiences on purpose sometimes for better results.

People were often taken by surprise to their unique approach which sort of sounded like a mix of punk, funk, poems, jazz and blues, and their audiences often reacted in a positive, supportive manner. Sexist men would sometimes get in their way, but the band kept their belief that women and men could live as equals. They didn't hate men, and encouraged them to think through a feminists point of view.

In 1984, the band appeared in the Who? What? Why? When? Where? compilation with their song 'Remote Control'  featuring several other of the anarchist punk bands. That same year, the band jumped onto Vindaloo Records to release their 'Dubious Deal' 12" . They would start off strong by touring with Poison Girls, and even managed to gig with bands such as Omega Tribe, Conflict, The Nightingales and High Alliance. Their lyrics would often cover sexuality, women's insecurities, love, and also topics regarding politics, police systems and animal liberation.

In 1985, the band released a tape called 'Syndrome' on the Poison Girl's Xntrix label. A second 12" named 'Just Another Day' was also released in 1985, and a double compilation L.P. called 'Communicate!!!! Live at Thames Poly' also featured one of their songs.Sadly, sometime during 1985, personal issues between the two members caused the band to split. Heather currently continues to write music on her own. To get a good idea of what Toxic Shock were about, I would suggest reading the handout above(click to enlarge) and the lyrics to 'Resistance' below which was written by Al.

"Resistance"

One way of doing things.
Turning an alternative into the alternative.
We all think this.
We all do that.
Building our own circle of security.
Back to the womb.
I don't want to live in an alternative ghetto.
I wan't to live in an an alternative world.
Out, out.

Falling in love
is supposed to answer all your problems.
One day your prince will come and that will be that.
So you spend your life waiting,
but no-one ever talks about the happy ever after.
Over the hills and far away.
To a paradise just for two.
Back to the womb.
I don't want to languish in your arms forever.
I want to linger in our arms for tonight.
And tomorrow we'll have to wake up.
And tomorrow we'll have to get up.
And use the love we've stumbled on.
Love as the reason to go on feeling.
Love as the reason to go on fighting the fear.
Love as the reason to go on making choices.
Love as the spur to resistance.

RESISTANCE! RESISTANCE! RESISTANCE!

Part 1

Alongside Rudimentary Peni, Part 1 also shared a similar interest in death, horror and anti religion, played several gigs with them, had a much more slower, darker sound than Nick's band, but disappeared almost as soon as they started. Some note that Part 1 was part of the beginning of goth-punk since they believed and acted out actions which were considered 'goth' before the 'goth' label was born. Before Part 1 was formed, their drummer Bob already had a band up and running called 'The Bleeding Lips' which released a tape, and their guitarist Mark started out in a band called 'The Urban Guerrillas' with Sean Finnis. Sean, Mark and Bob eventually joined together with another friend to form 'Matt Vinyl and the Emulsions', but Sean and Mark left to start several other bands such as The Snipers(not the same Snipers from this blog). In the end, Sean left to form Exit-Stance(same Exit-Stance from this blog), while guitarist Mark Farelli and drummer Bob Leith  formed Part 1 with Chris Baker on vocals and Chris Pascoe on bass.

Some members from the band were influenced by Crass's strong anti-religious works, Public Image, Santana, Killing Joke, Bauhaus and U.K. Decay. Can's long experimental songs and the sound of the flanger(a kind of guitar pedal) used in Siouxsie and the Banshees by John Mckay also played a key role in the sound that Part 1 developed. Their first gig was during October of 1980, at Bletchley's Compass Club, supporting the Flying Ducks. They played their second gig at the Peartree Bridge Centre with an early version of Exit-Stance called Ethnic Minority. During January of 1981, Part 1 recorded their first demo at The Crypt in Stevenage(the basement of an abondoned church), and a copy of the demo was sent to Crass which led to them choosing 'Marching Orders' to be included in Bullshit Detector 2, but by that time Mark disliked the song and asked them to not include it.

Their second demo titled 'In the Shadow of the Cross' was recorded during Spring of that same year, at the same place. This caught the attention of Andy Martin from the Apostles, which led to the band getting invited to play a gig by him with Dirt, The Sinyx, and The Chronic Outbursts, but Part 1 ended up not playing. Two gig dates later on Halloween of that same year, the band was meant to play with the Apostles, but the band ended up getting chased away with shovels and pickaxes resulting from a fight between punks and football fans. The band was also known for their disturbing art which was provided by Mark.

Eventually, Part 1 ended up playing one of their best gigs at the Wapping Anarchy Centre in London during 1982, on January 27th, with The Apostles, Blood and Roses and Witches. They ended up liking it so much that they decided to include it in copies of their 'In the Shadow of the Cross' demo tapes. Soon after, Mark Farelli met Nick Blinko from Rudimentary Peni, and their morbid similarities resulted in a close friendship between the two bands, which led to them playing several gigs together at the Anarchy centre and the Centro Iberico. It was actually Mark that introduced Nick to H.P. Lovecraft, so we can thank him for helping with the creation of Rudimentary Peni's 'Cacophony' album.

During May of 1982, Part 1 entered Octopus Studios in Cambridge with financial help from Nick Blinko to cover the expenses. Nick gave them £150 from the money made out of Rudimentary Peni's 'Farce' single on Crass Records, so they could record their first E.P. Once the final product was finalized, Part 1 released their excellent 'Funeral Parade' E.P. during October of 1982. Grant and Nick from Rudimentary Peni decided to continue helping the band by sending copies of the E.P. to Small Wonder and Rough Trade(eventually, the two bands went their separate ways, which may have had had something to do with Nick and Mark's competitive Lovecraft obsessions, or wanting to relocate). However, vocalist Chris Baker left in December of 1982 and ultimately disappeared, forcing Mark to playing guitar and sing.

Nick eventually gave a copy to Brian 'Pushead' Schroeder, vocalist for the U.S. thrashcore band, Septic Death, who ended up releasing 'In the Shadows of the Cross' as the 'Pictures of Pain' L.P. in 1984, on his Pusmort Records label without the versions of 'Graveyard Song' and 'Tomb' that were in it. He also included the track 'The Black Mass' in his 'Cleanse the Bacteria' compilation. In addition, the back cover of the L.P. features artwork by Nick Blinko. Unfortunately, They played their last show without even knowing it in April of 1983, supporting the Subhumans at Oxford Street's 100 Club.

After the gig, their van broke down, and the band members got into a horrible argument. This ultimately led to the split. Afterwards, Bob decided to join The Snails, followed by A.T.V. and finally The Cardiacs. As for Mark, he went to St. Martin's School of Art and became a worker in a second-hand bookshop, as well as a Victorian magic lantern performer.

Fortunately, the band is planning to release a six CD retrospective package very soon. Also, rumors of them playing this year with The Mob went around, but the gig never happened. However, according to the band, several of their best songs were written during the end of their time when they were a three-piece without Chris, but sadly none of it was ever recorded properly. Part 1 has recently reformed and hopes to record that material.

"Graveyard Song"

The black sky dense with death,
is bleeding down your drain,
your screams + shouts are distorted,
by the pouring of the rain,
your doubts are flooding in,
like your drowning in the sea,
your final rights are spoken,
this silence cannot be,
your coffin drops into your grave,
but the dead are alive.
You're clawing at your wooden tomb,
but how will you survive?
Your fears are confirmed,
as the soil is shovelled in,
you're being buried alive,
to the tune of a christian hymn.

The sermons & the preaching
mean nothing when you're dead.
The worms in your coffin,
will not fill your mouth with bread.
Christian believer,
you've filled your head with shit.
There's nothing left for you,
save the slime of the death pit.
There's no glistening heaven,
in the centre of the skies.
Your stupid fucking bible
is a book filled with lies.
Your crucifix was just two sticks,
on which some figure hung,
surrounded by filth,
in the cesspool the death bell rung.

(Click image to enlarge, then read it!)

"Tomb"

A last disturbing thought,
as darkness covers your eyes,
to be encased in a burial chamber
for your second life.
You were a nobody in the other world
you didn't stand a chance.
Now the time has come to live again,
in a catolinic trance.

I'm in a tunnel and it's closing in.
I am the visage in the loony bin.
They strap me up in their corridors
and sedate me to their one armed applause.

Paint me in white washed blessed obscenity,
so I fit in with the shitty scenery,
thoughts are concealed with my talons and swords,
while they tell me stories in my sterilized ward,
I feel the needle, the flick knife to my vein,
camouflaged horrors set deep down in my brain,
I feel drips of water, splashing onto my head.
They watch & they laugh as I writhe until i'm dead.

"Ghost"

Lost forgotten memory
of what happened.
Another empty,
useless opinion.
A feeling of guilt,
fucks your brain,
the ghost of your memory
leaves you insane.

It's a word
no longer a saying.
Deep down inside your soul,
in fear of god praying,
in fear of a corpse
hanging on a cross.
In fear of the blood,
should it drip in your hair?

In fear of a corpse
hanging on a cross.
In fear of the blood,
should it drip in your hair?

Lost to the shit
of your dream ghost.
Lost to the shit
of your dream ghost.

At night your no
longer human,
your soul was never
of this world.
Fuck the cross
cut the throat
of religion,
burn the books,
bury all that was said.

In fear of a corpse
hanging on a cross,
in fear of the blood
should it drip in your hair?
Lost to the shit
of your dream ghost.
Lost to the shit
of your dream ghost.

"Salem"

Salem burns in fierce fire burn,
crucifix lies in the mud to late to learn,
scarred images
thrown into the dark,
the screams of those burning
deep within the past,
to free themselves from the unholy purge,
they gave their god
charred flesh + bone,
to free their minds from doubt & guilt,
they gave their souls
the right to kill.
They screamed Christ's dead,
in the burial of shadows,
they screamed for
freedom,
but were silenced with the taste
of fucking fire

Salem burns in fierce fire burn,
crucifix lies in the mud to late to learn,
Scarred images
thrown into the dark,
the screams of those burning
deep within the past,
to free themselves from the unholy purge,
they gave their god
charred flesh + bone,
to free their minds from doubt & guilt,
they gave their souls
the right to kill.
They screamed Christ's dead,
in the burial of shadows,
they screamed for
freedom,
but were silenced with the taste
of fucking fire.

Victims of circumstance
or victims of some lost age,
I'm telling you they'll do it again were nearly in the cage.
From a fairy tale
comes a nightmare
though shalt not kill but you've his clearance to burn,
fear of the unknown gave birth to morality
Morality turned to slaughter
insane broken justice,
justice born from fire,
fire lit by fools.
Fire burning justice,
justice born from lies.
All your protectors,
protectors of some faith,
gave yourselves some scapegoats
burned in Christs clean breath.
One day they'll realize
the injustice of those lies,
but charred flesh cannot be given life taken by your lies.

Rudimentary Peni

A rather mysterious band, Rudimentary Peni spawned in June of 1980 in Abbots Langley, after the demise of the Magits. Nick Blinko took the guitar and vocal duties, and provided all the artwork, Jon Greville played the drums, and Grant was recruited on bass. After several rehearsals at Jon's parents' house, the band played their first gig on 1981 in a village hall near Watford, with the S-Haters(Nick was in this band for a while) and Soft Drinks(Jon drummed for this band and Drooper from the Magits sang). All of the band's early gigs were disappointments and failures for them because their audiences never liked them for being different from the other punk bands, and this made the band despise playing live, which explains why they hardly ever played gigs and never did tours. They never dressed 'punk'(they didn't care about the fashion), so people branded them as a joke, and would often boo them off stage or throw trash at them until they had no choice but to leave their gigs to avoid injury.

Because of their unappreciative crowds, the band usually only played only one gig a month, and this would become less and less every year. Instead, they focused more in recording, and Nick had already started his own record label called Out Himalayan Records, so the band went in to Street Level Studios in London to record their first self-titled E.P during the Summer of 1981. They had a member from the band Here and Now engineer it, and he felt disturbed by Nick's singing voice. They quickly went in and recorded nearly all the songs in one take, and released it on Nick's label. The result, was a very twisted sounding E.P. unlike anything else, with very clever yet creepy lyrics, covered in Nick's disturbing artwork. Nick was inspired by 'Outsider' art which is art from mental institutions, plus his mental illnesses played a key role in his sadistic style.

After the single, Nick met Mark Farrelly who was a guitarist for a similar sounding band that actually played several gigs with them. They both shared the same interest in macabre art and literature, but Mark's band was a lot more underground than Nick's, so his band was never really known about that much, but it is noted that it was actually Mark that got Nick started in his H.P. Lovecraft obsession. Another weird note about this band is that the only person that is political in it is Grant. Nick and Jon weren't at all, but Grant would often help out at the autonomy centre in Wapping, and he even went down to go to visit Crass with a fanzine writer to give them a copy of their E.P., and this what led to their 'anarcho punk' association and their next record. Following this, the band played their first London gig at the Red Lion on September 18th, 1981 with Flux of Pink Indians and The Subhumans, and this also really helped them start a relationship with the anarchist punk scene.

Crass became interested in Rudimentary Peni, and invited them down to Southern Studios to record their next single. The band went in, and recorded the material for their 'Farce' single which was released on Crass Records during the July of 1982. The record boosted the bands profile, and even landed them a respectable number 7 mark on the Indie charts. However, the band didn't like how Penny interfered with the production, especially the way he altered Nick's voice. Their song writing process would usually start with Nick and Grant writing the guitar and bass parts together(lyrics where sometimes written by Grant and other times written by Nick), and then they would show their complete songs to Jon who would in turn just add in the drums as he saw fit.

In 1983, Crass invited the band to come back and record their debut album for their Corpus Christi label. They called it 'Death Church', recorded it in two days, and released it during September of that same year. It peaked at the third top spot on the Indie charts, and also featured more of Nick's brilliant art. However, shortly after the release of Death Church, the band disappeared for a couple of years, with Grant successfully fighting lung cancer during the process.

In 1989, Rudimentary Peni returned to released their very bizarre 'Cacophony' album on their label Outer Himalayan. It was mostly based around the work of H.P. Lovecraft, and featured several tracks that sounded completely different to their other records and and it threw everyone off. Some of the songs had really weird, fast rambles at the end and strange time signatures. It also featured more of Nick's disturbing artwork. The band did play a very small amount of gigs after it's release, but then disappeared again until the mid nineties.

During that time, Nick also wrote his first book titled 'The Primal Screamer', which was a semi-autobiography about him, his mental illness and the bands struggle to become accepted within the 'punk' scene. It wasn't until 1995 when the band came back once again(rumors of them dying had surfaced by then, but not true) and released their third album titled 'Pope Adrian 37th Psychristiatric', but it became a disappointed and showed from all the bizarre ramblings that Nick's mental illness was starting to become worse. Even before the band had started, Nick had been suffering from Schizoaffective disorder. Regardless, the band carried on by releasing E.P.s every couple of years such as 'Echoes of Anguish' in 1997, 'The Underclass' in 2000, Grant's favorite release titled 'Archaic' in 2004, 'No More Pain' in 2008, and a single titled 'Chances' in 2009. As of today, the band members remain with their original line-up and have not split, but all the members have chosen to remain hidden from the public, shrouded in mystery, and unwilling to ever play live again.

Teenage time killer.
Youth of nausea, youthanasia.

Teenage time killer.
When it gets old it can wish it was young.
Teenage time killer.
Skull of James Dean haunts the dream of the teen.
Youth of nausea, youthanasia, youth of nausea.

"Hearse"

E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.
E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.
E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.
E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.

Hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.
Hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.
Hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.

Hobbledehoy in hearse, hearse, hearse.

E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.
E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.
E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.
E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.

Hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.
Hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.
Hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.

Hobbledehoy in hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.

E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.
E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.
E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.
E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.

Hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.
Hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.
Hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.

Hobbledehoy in hearse, hearse, hearse, hearse.

E-evil eye beyond sty and sky.

"Dead Living"

I'm a zombie, the crowd buried me.
My piercing eyes they just couldn't see.
I'm a zombie a death in their life.
I'm a zombie, no peace in their strife.

"Black President"

Peanut farmer, b-movie actor.

Awakening coughs.
Desires for powers.
Prime the ministers.
Watch them go off.
You have to be hardy to rest on your laurels.
You have to be hardy, but I'm so intense.
A bun in the oven, I'd fry in the fridge.
A newspaper, crowd blind, snow blind.
Close one eye, become their king.
The walls between you and me.

Are you a snake?
I'll use a ladder!
I'll use a ladder!
I'll use a ladder!
Robotic cool can mingle with my humanoid fool.
You have to be hardy.
You have to be hardy to rest on your laurels!
To stop all changes make time redundant!
Black, black, black, black president.

"Tower of Strength"

Tower of strength takes to the sea.
Scours ocean via quay.
Same old story muscle bound and Gorey.
Brand new story death without glory.
Infinite story so new, so hoary.
Build a tower of strength and watch it weaken.
Construct high hopes as the brightest beacon.
Watch the seagulls eat the trash.
You contemptuously ditch.

Do you know a seagull?
Do you know a wreck?
Are you tired of the tide?
Are you tired of the tide?
Roll in a rock pool, come let's hide.

Do you know a raging wind?
Do you know a seagull?
Do you know a wreck?
Do you know a raging wind?
Are you tired of the tide?
Are you tired of the tide?
Roll in a rock pool, come let's hide.

Tower of strength takes to the sea, oh, oh, oh, oh.

"Play"

Rock and Roll beast is dead, but your hunger must be fed.

Come on everybody join your hands.
Come in every brain clap new bands.
Come in everybody clap your hands.
Come on every brain join new bands.

We all play the same old chords.
We all tread the same old boards.

Come on everybody join your hands.
Come in every brain clap new bands.
Come in everybody clap your hands.
Come on every brain join new bands.

"Sacrifice"

God is nothing more than an obsessive lie.
While Sunday school children are brainwashed into the line,
And presented with as truth what's really just a lie,
Another childs' self-belief is sacrificed.

In the eyes of the lord, men are his servants.
In the eyes of the lord, women are men's servants.
In the eyes of the lord, we're authority's servants.
In the eyes of the lord, everyone's a servant.

Sexual roles perversely glorified.
Beyond virgin motherhood, all status is denied.
But starvation and death's; the real testament
to the truth of the god your bible represents.

"Cosmetic Plague"

Being honest is no means of survival.
avoid your inner-feelings like the plague.
This is what it takes to comply with the images this structure will accommodate.

But things aren't what they seem when they're partially hidden behind walls of pretence built for peace of mind.
The barriers between us are forever maintained by our acceptance of the roles others choose to define.

In a world of competition life's portrayed as a contest where we're forced to live by making gains at others expense,
But no-one's really gaining when perpetual conflict's the result of our relationships based on pretense.
We don't need this cultural cosmetic division
it upholds the self-interest on which the system feeds,
A deconditioned consciousness of mutual respect
is the only way to cure this cosmetic disease.

"Subdued Violence"

Let's find someone we can blame it all on.
Someone so stupid they can't see.
Pull out each hair one by one,
By three sick old frail worm, claustrophobia.
Suck suck suck, suck the puss holes dry.
Hate noise, hate you, acrophobia.
Punch kapow now, how bang down the door.
Mediocre idiocy, harlequin acting girl.

Dreams could be the root of a passable growth.
Treated as a child, how are children treated.
Broken arms, broken brains it's not a bit funny.
Minor dramas, minor life, closed mind.
Case history, pretension mystery
Don't mention it pathetic past.
Future forever future for never white.
Feather apprenticed weather seller.
Fight for light and you'll get dark.

"Only Human"

Hey you!
Yeah you!

You're the only human everyone's an alien.
Save you, save you.

We're malevolent, malignant, tumours sucking on your body.
Preying on your mind never mind, never mind.
Preying on your mind never mind, never mind.

Dissecting your soul, spirit, being or whatever.
Put your brain,
we've your whole life videoed.
Your womb, sub-life, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, old age.

"Bile Ball"

A stagnant pool of bile contains as much interest...
...As the bible.

and is much less harmful,
and is much more helpful,
and is much more reverend,
and is much more irreverent,

"Farce"

She is such a pretty girl,
Her shape fits well into a mould.
Her mind removed, her body's sold,
She does exactly what she's told.
And he is such a brave young man,
If his brain can't then violence can.
His mind was drained since life began
of the compassion he once had.

Why go on living in the past?
We just uphold the sexual farce.
Past is past, is past, is farce.
Why go on living in the past?

If air to breathe is hard to find
In her tight mould she doesn't mind.
She fits in well, she's one of a kind
Her processed mind upholds the lies.
And he in turn plays out the part,
We tempted him with from the start.
And she in turn plays out the part
Dictated to her by the past.

Why go on living in the past?
We just uphold the sexual farce.
Past is past, is past, is farce.
Why go on living in the past?

"Bloody Jellies"

There will be no coffins
When you and I die.
No consecrated ground.
A sin to end all sins,
and angels with scorched wings,
and if the thought of this stings.
Sorry god there's no coffins,
Just bloody jellies.
No coffins,
Just bloody jellies.

Glance at the nice town.
See the war plan it owns.
There will be mass graves,
So I want my death-grant
30 pounds in advance.
Buy now, don't leave to chance.
At least it's the final kill

No coffins,
Just bloody jellies.
No coffins,
Just bloody jellies.

This, their creation
To purify the planet.
A new beginning.
No, it's not destruction.

"Mice Race"

Dawn breaks but it isn't a new day.
Men like sheep, women like mice,
all caught in the rat race.
Take a closer look at what's going on today.
Are you really justified in having nothing to say?
Are you really justified in having nothing to say?
Are you not aware of a feeling of humiliation?
Don't you have to sell yourself and keep on saying "Sir"?
Are you really satisfied that every thing's O.K.?

Conditioned from the start and controlled from all directions.
Swamped by a normality that mustn't be questioned.
Ignorance is only a form of self-deception.
Are you really justified in having nothing to say?
Are you really justified in having nothing to say?
Take a closer look at what's going on today.
Are you really satisfied that every thing's O.K.?
Cos perhaps after all too much thinking doesn't pay!
Perhaps after all too much thinking doesn't pay!
Perhaps after all too much thinking doesn't pay!
Perhaps after all too much thinking doesn't pay!
Perhaps after all too much thinking doesn't pay!

"Defined by Age"

The gap between
young and old
Exists because
it's what we're told.
The older generation or the youth of today.
Views and actions
defined by age.
Defined by age.
Defined by age.

The complacency
of middle age.
False dignity,
moral outrage.
Is just the same
as the teenage rebel pose.
Another source
of money making.

Exploitation.
Manipulation.

A gap is nothing,
an empty space.
In your mind,
defined by age.
Fill the space.
Defined by age.
Fill the space.
Defined by age.

"Zero Again"

The end of the line where zero's the sign.
A hole in the mind, deaf, dumb and blind.
Nothing to cry not even an eye.
Zero again, the end of no end.

A vacant space lacks a familiar face.
An unknown face finds a vacant space.
The memory killed by a hole soon filled.
Zero again there remain no remains.

Death has begun and Jesus loves no-one
No-one.

"Bubble"

You have a bubble of hope you live inside, you're surrounded by tokens and symbols of hope.
It's your choice O.K., but I won't follow, smug in your bubble of hope.

You have a bubble of hope you live inside, you're surrounded by tokens and symbols of hope.
It's your choice O.K., but I won't follow, smug in your bubble of hope.

You have a bubble of hope you live inside, you're surrounded by tokens and symbols of hope.
It's your choice O.K., but I won't follow, smug in your bubble of hope.

Pop goes the bubble,
the rubber bubble of hope,
choke on hope.
I'll shrivel outside
de-hydrated pride,
seeps from a glue bag,
society's glue bag smothers.

Pop goes the bubble,
the rubber bubble of hope,
choke on hope.
I'll shrivel outside
de-hydrated pride,
seeps from a glue bag,
society's glue bag smothers.

"1/4 Dead"

Three quarters of the world are starving.
Three quarters of the world are starving.
The rest are Dead.
The rest are Dead.

Overdosed on insensitivity,
all varnished to crosses.
Overdosed on insensitivity,
all varnished to crosses.

Three quarters of the world are starving.
Three quarters of the world are starving.
The rest are Dead.
The rest are Dead.

"Blissful Myth"

It's Escapist shit of a feeble kind.
A fucked up institution for fucked up minds.
Holy Matrimony is a Blissful Myth.
Wholly based on tradition, wholly based on bullshit.

think you love each other, think youre so in touch,
but its the shit institution you love so much.

You love so much.
You love so much.
You love so much.
You love so much.

Is your caring so stifled, so Perverted and Sick?
That you need vowes and Duties so that it won't Slip?
You make your love secure but what of respect?
Does it only exist as another truth to forget?
So your limited caring is the best you can give.
Smeared with lies and traditions behind which you live.
Holy matrimony is a Blissful myth.
Wholly based on tradition Wholly based on bullshit.

"Psycho Squat"

Couldn't stand Dummy and Maddy no More.
Thats why
I had to go to the
psycho,
psycho Squat.

Now the Fleas carry blood around my Body.
?????
The winning Spiel goes round and Round.
The mass Debate Never ends.

"Rotten to the Core"

Have you Realised that Rock Stars
always seem to lie so much?
John Lydon once said he cared,
but he never really gave a fuck.
Said he'd use the money he made
So that people would have somewhere to go,
but now he lives in the U.S.A.,
and Snorts Coke after the Show.

Why is it that Rock Stars
always seem to lie so much?
Joe Strummer once said he cared,
but he never really gave a fuck.
Said he'd use the money he made
to set up a radio station to make the
Airwaves full of something more than Shit.
Have you noticed we're still Waiting?

You must realise that Rock Stars
always seem to lie so much.
Some will always tell you that they care,
but they don't really give a fuck.
Still you suckers don't ever learn
that rock stars deal in money not truth.
It's good Buisiness to exploit you.
Just look at Lydon or Strummer for Proof.

"Poppy Cock"

Poppies are the Opium of the People.
You prefer poppies to people.
You take pride in Genocide.
There are no poppies in the U.S.A.
There are no poppies in the U.S.S.R.
Poppy monopoly in the U.K.
Poppy Monopoly O.K.
Poppies are the opium of the people.

"Cosmic Hearse"

Floating round the universe.
Fucking in our cosmic hearse.
You know time don't ever end.
Can't evade those dead zen men.
You're the meat in Big Buddhas Dinner.
One day you'll eat us all up too.
One day is now.

"The Cloud Song"

The Black Cloud gathers smothers my brain
as I cry another tear in this struggle of Pain.
Another hurdle to clear, is it all the same?
Is the conquest of pain my only aim?

The pain has got to stop, it's eating into me.
My apathy upholds this misery.
this hatred for myself will destroy me.
If I don't to give it the love it needs

Have you ever realized you must love Yourself?
If you don't, then can you love anybody else?
Nobody can reach you through your personal hell.
You'll just eat yourself away in your tortured shell.

"Vampirestate Building"

What's that festering Grotesque
Over there in a
Wheelchair, wheelchair, wheelchair, wheelchair?

??????

Stifled in a Straitjacket
Self inflicted Safety pin Wounds, wounds, wounds, wounds.

is it Punkoid? Devoid? Schizoid? Mumbling?
Mumbling. Mumbling, mumbling, mumbling.

Vampire state building is crumbling, is Crumbling, is Crumbling.
Crumbling, crumbling, crumbling, crumbling.

Vampire State building is crumbling, is crumbling, is.

"Blasphemy Squad"

Blasphemy squad.
Thriving on hate,
in the warfare state,
like piss in a pod.

Never forget. Never ever forgive.
Wash your mouth out with pope.
Death love god squad.
and the babies of christ,
pin you all down,
in their burial mound.

Never forget. Never ever forgive.
Wash your mouth out with pope.
No need to feed
from Corpus Christi.
No need to cower.
inside you's the power.

Never forget. Never ever forgive.
Wash your mouth out with pope.
Hairy white mouse.
and the rubber arch bish,
the crazed entourage,
their immoral barrage,
they censored this line with a brick through my head,
washed my mouth out with pope.

Blasphemy Squad.
Blasphemy Squad.
Blasphemy Squad.
Blasphemy Squad.

"When you are a Martian Church"

When you are a martian church.
When you are a martian church.
When you are a martian church.
When you are a martian church.

When the dust has settled,
and you're born again,
maybe as a martian church,
maybe then you'll see.
That your reality,
was squashed into banality.
Squashed into banality.
Squashed into banality.

When you are a martian church.
When you are a martian church.
When you are a martian church.
When you are a martian church.
When you are a martian church.

"Pig in a Blanket"

I tell you about the animals.
How they suffer how they die.
You try to hide guilty doubt
from me with an appeasing smile.
You never want responsibility
for this murderous cruelty,
the wasteful piles of blood-soaked bodies.
You won't let your conscience see.

Ask yourself what makes you want this.
Torn ripped flesh so desperately.
Are you worthy of having this suffering
brought about to fuel your greed?
Not satisfied with killing animals?
You're killing millions of people as well,
as the numbers increase of those dying
in your man made 3rd world hell.

Millions dying all the time.
locked in your abbatoir of greed,
whilst you destroy them and yourself
by taking much more than you need.
There is no justice in this death.
No illusion i'll let you hide behind.
The tradition you use to hide animal murder
is nothing but a thin disguise.

"Inside"

No longer want to listen to your insane lies,
or call for the blood of those who've died,
or lust for the tears of another to be cried.
No longer want to suffer this pain inside.

No longer feel the need to crush all in sight,
or play any part in a cruel and bitter fight
to maintain a blood stained curse of pride,
no longer want to suffer this pain inside.

No longer want to suffer this pain inside.
No longer want to suffer this pain inside.
No longer want to suffer this pain inside.
No longer want to suffer this pain inside.

"Nothing but a Nightmare"

What's the point of living in your mindless life?
What's the point of living in your mindless life?
What's the point of dying in your mindless death?
What's the point of living in your lifeless mind?

Have you ever even had the thought of thinking,
or is it you're just ignorant and ignorant?
Have you ever even had the thought of thinking?
Pathetic fool trapped inside your skull.

The pile of shit inside your brain in which you live
is not your own, you live out all the lies you're given.
You're too scared to face yourself.
You're too scared to face yourself,
so you're too scared to please yourself.
Living in your dreamworld is nothing but a nightmare.
Nothing but a nightmare.
Nothing but a nightmare.
Nothing but a nightmare.

"Flesh Crucifix"

Carnivores are like tombstones.
Cremating animal carcasses,
creating animal shit coffins.
Carnivores are like tombstones.
Carnivores are flesh tombstones.

"Slimy Member"

Grind your bones to make their bombs.
Nothing so slimy as a member,
or obscene as the prime cut.
The real chaos merchant.
Severed head of state.

Masters of disasters.
With jingo and jargon,
juggling with our jugulars.
The iron lady cried.
The people came to see.

The rust blow down the street,
nothing so slimy as a member,
or obscene as the prime cut.
The real chaos merchant.
Severed head of state.

Masters of disasters.
With jingo and jargon,
juggling with our jugulars.
The iron lady cried.
The people came to see.

"Love is not"

Love is not your parents lies,
it's a myth that they create.
True expression you're denied.
In their "love" it has no place.
Love is not your parents lies.
Do they really care for you?
Why then must they hide behind
duty and guilt that smothers you.
You.

Love is not your parents lies,
strung up by hostility.
Never doubt that they're so kind,
it's a sordid parody.
Love is not your parents lies.
Blackmail keeps you in your place.
You can struggle, you can try,
but they won't see your real face.

Love is not your parents lies,
but you dare not face this fact.
Their pretense at paradise,
keeps you down and holds you back.
Love is not your parents lies.
Smash the myth of unquestioned love.
It's a role they hide behind,
dumb pretence is not enough.

Not Enough.

"Radio Schizo"

Transatlantic, titanic freak shout.
Radio Schizo.
New empire's devouring old.
Radio Schizo.
The one's called sane wanna self destruct.
Radio Schizo.

"Happy Farm"

As you walk out of the valium of death,
a sad feeling limps around your brain.
Funny farmers sowing seeds of discontent.
Pumping nerve gas around unfeeling veins.
War junkies perish in the wreckage of their brains,
mind-ward earthlings seek to change our path.
Stench crawling over the snow,
bilious bodies terrorized by fastfood sugar demons.
Unhappy nuclear bomb-doubt families,
meltdown in the melting tin pot boilers.
Another crutch splinters and snaps.
Time to heal the split atoms now,
happy farm.

"Alice Crucifies the Pedophiles"

Smash cash, smash trash.
Smash cash, smash trash.
Smash cash, smash trash.

Not long now to the sub-teen revolution.
The winding up's gone on too long.
Babies bite back
Babies bite back.
The babies bite back.

Smash cash, smash trash.
Smash cash, smash trash.
Smash cash, smash trash.

Not long now to the sub-teen revolution.
The winding up's gone on too long.

Alice crucifies the pedophiles.
Alice crucifies the pedophiles.
Alice crucifies the pedophiles.

Smash cash, smash trash.
Smash cash, smash trash.
Smash cash, smash trash.

not long now to the sub-teen revolution.
The winding up's gone on too long.

The babies bite back,
The babies bite back,
Babies bite back,

Smash cash, smash trash.
Smash cash, smash trash.

"Army of Jesus"

Drink the blood and eat the flesh he said.
Drink the blood and eat the flesh he said.

Stone the crows
and fuck the pigs,
and pass the ammunition
to Jesus.

The holy ghost in mohawk hair has crept in every fucking where.
Ten tons of the babes foreskin,
and fifty-thousand skeletons of Jesus.
Army of Jesus.
Army of Jesus.

Drink the blood and eat the flesh he said.
Drink the blood and eat the flesh he said.

Tho' the world ate all your shits,
they're still allowed to starve.
The Turin shroud can't cover
up your evil-smelling cloud.
deliver us from Jesus
forever and ever.
Bloody men.
Bloody men.
Bloody men.

"Dutch Men"

1902 inside a British concentration camp,
Where 20,000 Dutchmen
including children die.
Do you feel any pity for these murdered men and women
who died at the hand of the British Empire?

Victims they may have been,
But innocent they were not.
They were murderers just the same
with their own code of hate.

These Dutchmen carried rifles,
went out hunting on horseback,
delighting in the slaughter
of a bigger kind of prey.
taking part
in the latest wave of genocide,
they found killing Zulus much more fun than any other game.

Victims they may have been,
But innocent they were not.
They were murderers just the same
with their own code of hate.

These Zulu warriors felt so proud
of all the suffering they had caused.
Driven to a frenzy by the death hate of tribal wars.
Bound up by their own morals,
bigotry, and lies and shit.
It's just the same in Northern Ireland, Poland and Afghanistan.
They're just fighting for the right
to enforce their own oppression.
Through the bigotry and blindness
of their moral law.

"Nightgaunts"

Hairy flesh impinges from all directions. Somnambulistic ramble around the room huddle in a corner. Giant pink fleshly worm wolf's head round the door. Dark petalled sensitive plants scuttle over carpets. Black statuettes animate square heads firestokers. Skewer me in flame.

Paradise lost dore aint no rowboat. Nightgaunt Nightgaunt.
Hellish barb bifid. Nightgaunt Nightgaunt.
Impossible bat wings. Nightgaunt Nightgaunt.
They took my father today 1697. Nightgaunt Nightgaunt.
But science foils our phobias. Nightgaunt Nightgaunt.
Noiseles faceless for faces frighten neighbours. Nightgaunt Nightgaunt,
Bloated somnambulitic shoggoths plash. Nightgaunt Nightgaunt.
Hpl paraphrased ad nauseum. Nightgaunt Nightgaunt.
Obscene clutch indigestion? gripe? cancer! Nightgaunt Nightgaunt.
Recurrent nightnare of death. Nightgaunts Nightgaunts.

"The Horrors in the Museum"

A muse musing in a museum.
What's the use of looking if you don't see 'em?
Always just that bit behind glass.
Always just that bit behind glass.
Fondling the master's skull.
fondling the master's skull as a child.
One of his coffin nails

And I formed a dislike
for killing things.
which could not fight back,
Childish and childlike.

My rocking hearses.

I am Providence.
I am Providence.
I am Providence.
I am Providence.
I am Providence.
I am Providence.
I am Providence.
And Providence is me.

"New Dark Age"

Hello and welcome to inconclusive arguments in today's conference we have a psychologist, a guru, an athlete, a freak, a scientist, a dictator, an anarchist, a mass murderer, a composer, a human vegetable, and a complete outsider. let's open the discussion with you, er huh what gives? that look of revelation on the athelete's face- the complete outsider is the centre of attention- just what is the human vegetable doing to the psychologist, the freak is eating the mass murderer, o my god terrifying vistas of reality and our position therein are being opened up to us all, this is the worst thing that's happened to mankind and in the studio they've opted for a new dark age but your commentator has gone stark staring mad.

"The Lovecrafts Were Quarreling"

What! shall th' aspiring blood of lancaster sink in the ground- i thought it would have mounted! see how my sword weeps for the poor king's death. o, may such purple tears be always shed from those that wish the downfall of our house! if any spark of life be yet remaining, down, down to hell, and say i sent thee thither!

"Dream City"

The weedy old spires like veins in marble.
The old gold domes were just ancestral homes.

The citadels of yore with broken bronze bells
and tottering towers.
 Shadowy staircases.
 Spiraling like ammonites.
The sartorial shabbiness of Dunsany
denies him a place at the occult coronation
Tho' gold always rises
Strata of wonders quickly pall
The gleam of dreams is brighter than the glister of
fossilized pageants Dream city.

"Drinking Song From "The Tomb""

Come hither, my lads, with your tankards of ale, And drink to the present before it shall fail; Pile each on your platters a mountain of beef, For 'tis eating and drinking that bring us relief: So fill up your glass, For life will soon pass; When you're dead ye'll ne'er drink to your king or your lass! Anacreon had a red nose, so they say But what's a red nose if ye're happy and gay? Gad split me! I'd rather be red whilst I'm here, Than white as a lily -and dead half a year! So Betty my miss, Come give me a kiss; In hell there's no inkeeper's daughter like this! Young Harry, propp'd up just as straight as he's able, Will soon lose his wig and slip under the table, But fill up your goblets and pass 'em around- Better under the table than under the ground! So revel and chaff As ye thirstily quaff: Under six feet of dirt 'tis less easy to laugh! The fiend strike me blue! I'm scarce able to walk, And damn me if I can't stand upright or talk! Here, landlord, bid Betty to summon a chair; I'll try home for a while, for my wife is not there! So lend me a hand I'm not able to stand But I'm gay whilst I linger on top of the land!

I spiked his drink!

I don't care about anyone.
The herd laughed at my writing.
My dream writing.
I write no more but I still dream.

Flying zigzagging zugzwanging.
Aurora over cities of the Apocalypse.
Death lying upon that land.

pagodas perish,
Expelled from London
Through the towns of Surrey.
Melting minarets.
Homes growing thinner
Beyond the Tanarian Hills.

"Twitch"

Howard Phillips Lovecraft, heaven knows, had a talent for writing which was of no means proportion: only what he did with this talent was a shame, and a caution and an eldritch horror. If he'd only gotten the hell out of his aunties' attic and obtained a job with the federal writer's project of the W.P.A., he could have turned out guidebooks that would have been classics and joys to read forever. Only he stayed up there muffled up to the tip of his long gaunt New England chin against the cold which lay more in his heart than in his thermometer, living on 19 cents worth of beans a day, rewriting (for pennies) the crappy manuscripts of writers whose complete illiteracy would have been a boon to all mankind -ah, but life is a boon- and producing ghastly, grisly, ghoulish, and horrifying works of his own as well -of maneating things which foraged in graveyards, of human/beastie crosses which grew beastlier and beastlier as they grew older, of gibbering Shoggoths and Elder beings which smelt real bad and were always trying to break through thresholds and take over; rugous, squamous, amorphous nasties abbetted by thin, gaunt New England eccentrics who dwelt in attics and who were eventually never seen or heard from again. Serve them damn well right, I say. In short, Howard was a twitch, boys and girls, and that's all there is to it.

"Better Not Born"

It seemed like a damn futile business to keep on living. No more tutors - high school next September which would probably be a devilish bore, since one couldn't be as free and easy as one had been during brief snatches at the neighbourly Slater Avenue school...Oh hell! Why not slough off consciousness altogether?...The whole life of man was a mere cosmic second -so I couldn't be missing much. The method was the only trouble. I didn't like messy exits, and dignified ones were hard to find. Really good poisons were hard to get -those in my chemical laboratory (I reestablished this institution in the basement of the new place) were crude and painful. Bullets were spattery and unreliable. Hanging was ignominious. Daggers were messy unless one could arrange to open a wrist in a bowl of warm water -and even that had its drawbacks despite good Roman precedent. Falls from a cliff were positively vulgar in view of the probable state of the remains. Well what tempted me most was the warm, shallow reed-grown Barrington River down the east shore of the bay. I used to go there on my bicycle and look speculatively at it. (That summer I was always on my bicycle wishing to be away from home as much as possible since my abode reminded me of the home I had lost). How easy it would be to wade among the bushes and lie face down in the warm water till oblivion came. There would be a certain gurgling or choking unpleasantness at first, but it would soon be over. Then, the long, peaceful night of non-existence... What I had enjoyed from the mythical start of eternity till the 20th of August 1890. More and more I looked at the river on drowsy sun-golden summer afternoons. I liked to think of the beauty of the sun and blue river and green shores and distant white steeple as enfolding me at the last -it would be as if the element of mystical cosmic beauty were dissolving me, and yet certain elements -notably scientific curiosity and a sense of world drama- held me back. Much in the universe baffled me, yet I knew I could pry the answers out of books if I lived and studied longer. Things have learned to walk that ought to crawl.

"A Charming Chant"

To tread on a peni guitar is death, to tread on a peni drum is instant death.

"Musick In Diabola"

The music you hear -even the voice- especially the voice is constructed entirely from bones breaking, blood flowing, and the like. A fly in flight supplies us with the note "F", a humble bee "C", and so on. So it's not really music but it is (fantasy and reality) The massed ranks of the Blackstone military band made exactly the right cacophony. Even now I relish the old time inanities when they're revived on the radio, for they recall the lost illusions and optimisms of their initial ululations -50 year old punks 90 year old teds dead hippies Erich Zann's viol E Major has a quality all its own harsh, fierce, and strong -A shout of joy! The bass captures the neutral grey and the extremes of white and black, whilst we mortals must confine ourselves to the more pedestrian inner spectrum. Primal primary colours. We are the band playing in front of the funeral parlour, we are the Arkham hearse's drunken drivers. The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear Bergson said that by studying the maps, pictures, guide books, and plans of Paris, it is possible to discern the weight of monuments, the height of statues, the distance between landmarks, and the like, but that any amount of such contemplative visualisation is vastly inferior to a ten minute walk along one of the great city's magnificent boulevards. I have been to Paris in company with Poe in a dream. If I were to think of a name of a band, Rudimentary Peni would be the last thing I'd come up with, and if I did I'd probably dismiss it immediately. But some people have decided to call themselves precisely that... And the Peni, as I'm sure you've all realised by now, were an ancient hill tribe hailing from what is now Shipley Yorkshire, who defeated the Roman legions at the notable battle in I think 53BC -what a name to be lumbered with. O well, it's their decision -what's in a name Ravenscroft? Rudimentary, my dear Peni. I take all the noises you made in the world, eat them -spew them regurgitate them- excrete them - bury them - shoot them off to the stars Thunderous music hemispherical cosmic temple - executor of extraordinary proficiency 'pon the forte oddest pitch gusting turbulence ye gods I've penned tri-tones. I must be away to confession And I died singing this song.

You'll never want to hear this song again.
Crazy Jane, I'm with you in the rain again.
Crazy Jane, do you feel the pain again?
A daisy chain placed so carefully in black hair.
Crazy Jane, do you feel that I really care?
Crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy Jane.

"Iron Lung"

Scatologically i'm thinking of changing my mind.

"The Flame Of Insanity"

What is this that burns
through every cell,
and every fibre of being?

Divine decay.
pure and infernal.
Divine decay.
The flame of insanity.

What is this that burns
through every cell,
and every fibre of being?

Divine decay.
pure and infernal.
Divine decay.
The flame of insanity.

"In Memory Of Pain"

Ruthless blade of trespass,
upon soft flesh of mind.
In absence still remembered.
You will return in time.

Ruthless blade of trespass,
upon soft flesh of mind.
In absence still remembered.
You will return in time.

"Dissolution"

It matters not that I did seek,
to conquer fear and vanquish pain,
for victory belongs to grief,
so into tears dissolve in vain.

Into tears dissolve in vain.
Into tears dissolve in vain.
Into tears dissolve in vain.
Into tears dissolve in vain.

It matters not that I did seek,
to conquer fear and vanquish pain,
for victory belongs to grief,
so into tears dissolve in vain.

Into tears dissolve in vain.
Into tears dissolve in vain.
Into tears dissolve in vain.
Into tears dissolve in vain.

"Only Death"

There is only death.
No god, no love, no joy.
There is only death.,
and the fear of it.

"Womb So Scorned"

Bereaved of that for which i live.
You have chastised me.
Womb so scorned,
with hollow rage.
You have chastised me.
You have chastised me.

Bereaved of that for which i live.
You have chastised me.

Womb so scorned,

with hollow rage.

Womb so scorned,

with hollow rage.

You have chastised me.
You have chastised me.

"Time Passing"

Time passing,
unseen,
heavy with mortality,
with memory
and sentiment,
and fearful regret,
bitter seed of futile fertility.

Time passing,
unseen,
heavy with mortality,
with memory
and sentiment,
and fearful regret,
bitter seed of futile fertility.

"Echo"

Language of agony,
torment in sound.
Weeping of ancestors
formed into words.
The echo of anguish,
primeval sorrow.

"Voice"

Should I speak or silence keep.
Your verdict is unswayed.
Communicate we never will,
so hatred has its way.

Should I speak or silence keep.
Your verdict is unswayed.
Communicate we never will,
so hatred has its way.

So hatred has its way.
So hatred has its way.
So hatred has its way.
So hatred has its way.

"Stone"

Fashioned from stone,
our blood is cold,
as the lifeless rock
through which inertia flows.

Fashioned from stone,
our blood is cold,
as the lifeless rock
through which inertia flows.

Fashioned from stone,
our blood is cold,
as the lifeless rock
through which inertia flows.

"Trial By Separation"

When we first met,
I was alone,
and so were you,
and so are you.
When we first touched,
I was alone,
and so were you,
and so are you.
When we first fucked,
I was alone,
and so were you,
and so are you.
you have deserted me.
I am alone,
and so are you,
and so are you.
you have deserted me.
I am alone,
and so are you,
and so are you.

"From The Heart"

To your consent,
to life or death,
to life or death,
I will not yield,
and though you wound me,
and though I bleed,
to your heart's desire,
I will not yield.

To your consent,
to life or death,
to life or death,
I will not yield,
and though you wound me,
and though I bleed,
to your heart's desire,
I will not yield.

And though you wound me,
and though I bleed,
to your heart's desire,
I will not yield.

To your consent,
to life or death,
to life or death,
I will not yield,

And though you wound me,
and though I bleed,
to your heart's desire,
I will not yield.

"Your Secret Life"

I know all about your secret life,
your feminine mystique,
your falsity.
Your innocent promiscuity,
and your hypocritical cruelty
hold no mystery for me.

"Captive of Atrophy"

A collection of empty cells.
A collection of empty cells.

You are the
crumbling walls
of our prison.

A collection of empty cells.
A collection of empty cells.

You are the
crumbling walls
of our prison.

"No Other Truth"

No other truth

No other truth but power alone.

How I see you.

No other truth but power alone.

How you see me.
No other truth but power alone.
No other truth.
No other truth but power alone.
No other truth.
No other truth but power alone.
No other truth.

Being within
Is a lie.

Is a lie.

Our essence no more
Than a ghost of superstition.

Being within
Is a lie.

Being within
Is a lie.

Our essence no more
Than a ghost of superstition.

"Bequest"

Aaaaaaaaah.

My father,
you have promised me
an inheritance of death.
Your legacy.
This tragedy.
An undesirable bequest.

Aaaaaaaaah.

My child,
I have promised you
An inheritance of death.
Your legacy.
This tragedy.
An undesirable bequest.

Aaaaaaaaah.

"Choice of Evils"

There is no right or wrong.
There is no right or wrong.
So help the weak,
and fight the strong.
There is no right or wrong.
There is no right or wrong,
but the brute force of history.

There is no right or wrong.
There is no right or wrong.
So help the weak,
and fight the strong.
There is no right or wrong.
There is no right or wrong,
but the brute force of history.

There is no right or wrong.

"The Internal Censor"

I am not in pain,
and I do not fear death.
Yet, these words I read,
and strike out nonetheless.

I am not in pain,
and I do not fear death.
Yet, these words I read,
and strike out nonetheless.

"The Ocean of Misery"

All my tears
are but one drop
in an ocean
of misery.

All your tears
are but one drop
in an ocean
of misery.

All our tears
are but one drop
in an ocean
of misery.

"One and All"

We are all
so full of death.
We are all
so full of lies.
We are all
so empty.
One and all
so empty.

so full of death.
We are all
so full of lies.

we suffer and suffer.
We suffer and suffer.

their carved names.

The rain
runs down
Your carved names.

"Mercy of Slumber"

From this nightmare,
someday I'll wake,
to sleep forever.
To sleep forever.

From this nightmare,
someday I'll wake,
to sleep forever.
To sleep forever.

From this nightmare,
someday I'll wake,
to sleep forever.
To sleep forever.
To sleep forever.
To sleep forever.

"The Curse"

You hate me,
and frustrate me,
isolate me
and castrate me.

To the day I die,
I curse you and all your kind.
To the day I die,
I curse you and all your kind.

You hate me,
and frustrate me,
isolate me
and castrate me.

To the day I die,
I curse you and all your kind.
To the day I die,
I curse you and all your kind.

"The Enlightened Dreamer"

Most will fail
and all will die,
so none shall live
to tell the tale.

Most will fail
and all will die,
so none shall live
to tell the tale.

"X N.H.S."

The N.H.S. is closing down.
Dr. Benardos coming to town.
Fight the hand that bleeds.
Fight the hand that bleeds.

The N.H.S. is closing down.
Dr. Benardos coming to town.
Fight the hand that bleeds.
Fight the hand that bleeds.
Fight the hand that bleeds.
Fight the hand that bleeds.

"Farewell Tomorrow"

Farewell tomorrow,
ever was it so.
Absence of flowers,
choked by weeds.

Farewell tomorrow,
ever was it so.

Farewell tomorrow,
ever was it so.
Absence of flowers,
choked by weeds.

Farewell tomorrow,
ever was it so.

"House from the Void"

From the void,
the womb is formed.
The void in human form.

From the void
the void is formed
The void in human form.
The void in human form.
The void in human form.
The void in human form.

"Rehearsal of Mortality"

In this rehearsal
For mortality,
I learn acceptance
And can no longer return.

With such tenacity
to cling,
to all that is me,
to all that is me.
